Coate Water is a country park 5 miles to the southeast of central Swindon, England. It takes its name from its main feature, a reservoir originally built to provide water for the Wilts & Berks Canal. The reservoir has since been adapted as a nature reserve, with tours available on occasion. The woodland stretching around the reservoir is rich in birdlife and provides excellent opportunities for photography.
Experience the age of steam travel brought to life through locomotives, reconstructions, and films of the 1950s. Alongside the railway museum take the family to the Steam Festival with traditional games, displays and railway exhibits.
