Me and my dog Poppy really did receive the warmest of welcomes, not just from staff but the resident Labrador trio too. Everyone we met made a fuss of Poppy – just what you want when you’re travelling with your dog.
As well as making friends, Poppy was also welcome in every part of the hotel, even in the cosy bar. The staff here were more than friendly and it was easy to get talking to a few dog loving guests too – a great place for pooches and owners to socialise.
What doggie will love:
- Out on a walk – When it comes to walks you’re spoilt for choice, as the hotel sits in the Philiphaugh Estate. The hotel has maps and information to guide you.
- Over dinner – Guests with dogs in tow are welcome to dine in the bar. I received an excellent level of service and the extensive menu uses the best local produce.
- With a drink – Stop by the hotel’s bar. When we visited, Poppy was made to feel very welcome, quickly making herself at home on the rug in front of the log burner.
Rather than staying in the main hotel, guests travelling with four legged friends stay in the hotel’s lodges, which have their own gardens. Staying there made this whole trip completely stress-free. It was easy to let Poppy out for some regular sniffin’ time and I didn't have to worry about other guests disturbing her.
